The Cardiology Department of the HUG has set up a therapeutic patient education team (PET) with the support of the GECOR foundation. Their activities cover patients in two main settings : Preventive Cardiology and Secondary Prevention. Dr Frédéric Sittarame, specializing in therapeutic education, supported at 50% by the GECOR foundation, coordinates and leads the PET activities of secondary prevention and cardiovascular rehabilitation programs which combine technical learning, theoretical knowledge, cultural and artistic activities. The latter component is the subject of a MEG-HUG partnership agreement which aims to implement art and culture as an essential complement to supporting patients in their care.
