Preventive cardiology assesses and advises on cardiovascular risk: the likelihood of suffering from a myocardial infarction, a stroke or an arterial disease of the lower limbs in the future. This risk is largely explained by modifiable factors (blood pressure, cholesterol level, diabetes, tobacco dependence) and non-modifiable factors (age, heredity, etc.). We work with different types of imaging to further predict this risk (coronary calcium score, search for vascular plaques).

Among the risk factors, we are particularly interested in the level of lipids in the blood and arterial hypertension which are cardiovascular risk factors with great impact and are easy to modify in the majority of our patients. In addition to pharmacological approaches, therapeutic education is also useful to reduce the risk.
